During the Civil War in England, a group of deserters flee through an overgrown area from the battle. An alchemist, who forces the group to aid him in his hunt to look for a treasure that he considers is buried inside the specialty captures them. Crossing a huge mushroom ring, which supplies their first meal, the group quickly descend to a chaos of arguments, fighting with paranoia, and, since it becomes clear that the treasure may be something besides gold, they gradually become prey to the terrifying energies trapped inside the area.
