Struggling Brandon tries hard to focus on his studies during his freshman year of college, but he keeps coming to the same conclusion: dance is his passion. Nate, his geeky roommate, suggests they start a dance crew, but their search for other freestyle dancers is futile. So they broaden their search to include a break-dancer, a performance artist, a Bhangra dancer, an animator, a ballerina, and a ballroom dance mom who are all eager to join the new crew. A national dance battle headlined by Brandon's previous crew, Levelz, provides Brandon with his first opportunity to show himself and his family that he and his crew have what it takes to make it as dancers.
