Overview
Richard Hannay, a mining engineer on vacation from the African colonies, finds London socialite life to be incredibly tedious. When a secret agent bursts into his room and hands him a coded notebook containing information about the impending start of World War I, he gets more than he bargained for. In no time, both German agents and British law are after him, ruthlessly coveting the Roman numerals code, which Hannay believes he must crack himself.
