Overview
The Joy of Painting was a television show hosted by painter Bob Ross that taught viewers how to paint landscapes in oil. Despite the fact that Ross could finish a painting in half an hour, the show's goal was not to teach viewers how to "fast paint." Instead, he wanted viewers to master specific methods throughout the time allocated for the broadcast. The show premiered on January11,1983, and ran until May17,1994, one year before Ross died.
